         Important Fire Safety & carbon-monoxide dangers.

         Spend a-few minutes to insure your family’s safety.


         Fire Smoke and Carbon-monoxide Detectors: Make sure to have working fire smoke
         and carbon-monoxide detectors (alarms), placed in the proper locations in your house,
         minimum  one  on  each  floor.  Remember  to  change  the  batteries  and  test  every  six
         months (recommended when moving the time) even if your detectors are hardwired
         into your electrical system and the battery is a backup only.    Pay special attention to
         gas stoves and oven that remain lit during Shabbos and Yom Tov. Proper ventilation and
         carbon-monoxide detectors play a vital role in your families’ safety.
         Fire Extinguisher:  It is highly recommended that every apartment should have at-least
         one (non-expired) fire extinguisher.  Check the expiration date   of your fire extinguisher.
         Evacuation  Plan:  It  is  highly  recommended  that  every  family  should  have  a  meeting
         point and an evacuation plan in case of a fire  חר"ל  .
         Appliances:  It  is  highly  recommended  to  inspect  all  your  appliances  periodically  to
         ensure it is properly functioning. Read the instruction manuals carefully.
         Shabbos & Yom Tov candles:  When preparing Shabbos & Yom Tov candles make sure
         to place them on a solid sturdy table or counter, away from curtains window shades and
         all its strings, always place on a fire proof tray, never place the candles at a place where
         your family passes, always keep candles away from children’s reach, if tassels tablecloth
         or plastic tablecloth is hanging down from under where the candles are secure them in a
         way that a child shouldn’t be able pull on it C’V. Never leave candles unattended.
         Shabbos  &  Yom  Tov  cooking:  When  possible;  use  back  burners  rather  than  front
         burners, always turn the pot handles inwards it shouldn’t stick out, careful when frying
         it often spurts  out. Place your hot plates & burners on a solid sturdy table or counter,
         away  from  curtains  window  shades  and  all  its  strings,  never  place  the  hot  plates  &
         burners at a place where your family passes, always keep all “hot surfaces” away from
         children’s reach. It is beneficial to use timers for the appliances.
