COMPATIBILITY: For the bin-lifting system
using the European handle:

• Garbage cans with lids and handles
designed for waste usage:
○ o Maximum capacity of 150 litres
and 25 kilograms (when full)

Every garbage can with lid and handles or wheeled garbage bin must be identified with
the owner's full address. Regardless of the size or type of container, the maximum capacities
are 360 litres for residences and 720 litres for businesses. Various sizes of containers
are available at major hardware stores.

NO LONGER ALLOWED within the territory
of the Borough of Outremont
• Plastic bags, and disposal:

○ o directly on the public thoroughfare Do not use a recycling bin or
○ o in a bin other than those approved for waste container with the recycling logo.
Fines will be issued for non-compliance with the by-law.
