Communautés de ruelles logo Laurent Desbois, maire d’Outremont
The initiative’s logo, inspired by the concepts of neighbourhood, family and
culture, represents two houses joined together, evoking the ideas of living
together and a new space for inter-community dialogue.

                                               Rachelle Bendayan, MP for Outremont
“I am very enthusiastic about this new project, the
Communautés de ruelles, which has been made possible by a
federal grant. Communautés de ruelles is a unique
opportunity to rally together and nurture inter-community
                             relations in our borough.”

As the Member of Parliament for Outremont riding, I have the good fortune
to represent a multitude of citizens from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
While this cultural richness is representative of the genuine reality of our
community, our city and our country, living together in harmony is a choice
      that we must make together.
Our federal government is committed to helping build a future where the
value of differences is celebrated, where every voice is heard in our shared
societal symphony, and where every individual feels not only accepted, but
appreciated. This is the choice we have made and the promise we will
      continue to honour.
By investing $340,000 in the Communautés de ruelles project, we are
hoping to strengthen dialogue and celebrate the diverse cultures that make
      up our neighbourhood.
With this project, which seeks to bring Outremont’s various communities
closer together in the public arena, we are actively helping to build this sense
of togetherness: our streets, empowered by the strength of our diversity,
become the stage for cultural convergence,
      where boundaries between communities
are erased to pave the path
      to mutual understanding.
